Switching Providers
Yes. You have the right to change your provider at any time if your current provider isn’t meeting your needs. Just make sure to check your service agreement for any notice periods or exit conditions.
No. Your Home Care Package or NDIS funding stays with you. If you have unspent funds, they will be transferred to your new provider once your transition is finalised.
In urgent situations like a provider closure, your care package will remain active. You’ll typically have 56 days to sign on with a new provider. You can also request a 28-day extension from My Aged Care if more time is needed.
Coordinate your transition with both the old and new providers. Ideally, confirm your new provider’s start date before ending services with your current one. Providers like My Guardian can help manage this handover smoothly.
